A visit to the old town reveals Mombasa's rich culture and architectural heritage. Begin the tour in the old town, where you will observe the iconic elephant tusks - monumental structures that symbolize Mombasa. Next, an optional visit to Fort Jesus, built by the Portuguese in the 16th century: narrow streets, ancient mosques and picturesque dwellings evoke the island's medieval past. You'll see the old dhow port and visit the local bazaar and market. Then we'll stop at Akamba Woodcarvers, where you can see carvers at work and buy souvenirs. Lunch at a local restaurant or on a Dhow boat. In the afternoon, visit the Dr. Rene Haller Nature Park (Haller Park), former quarries, now forested and home to many animals. Return to the hotel.
