Program Description

Discover Seoul on a full-day tour that introduces you to the most important landmarks of South Korea’s vibrant capital. This experience combines the legacy of the Joseon Dynasty, Buddhist spirituality and breathtaking modern city views from above. In just one day, you will immerse yourself in Korean culture and see how centuries-old tradition blends seamlessly with dynamic contemporary life.

Your day begins with hotel pick-up and a comfortable coach transfer to Jogyesa Temple – the chief centre of Korean Buddhism. This peaceful sanctuary in the heart of the bustling city offers a striking contrast to Seoul’s modern skyline and busy streets.

Next, you will drive past the Blue House (Cheongwadae) – the former presidential residence of South Korea, beautifully located at the foot of Mount Bugaksan. The complex is an excellent example of traditional Korean architecture and an important symbol of the country’s modern history.

The tour then continues to Gyeongbokgung Palace – the largest and most representative of the Five Grand Palaces of the Joseon Dynasty, originally built in the 14th century. As you walk through the vast courtyards and elegant pavilions, you will discover the grandeur of royal architecture. On Tuesdays, when the palace is closed, you will visit Deoksugung Palace instead. At Gwanghwamun Gate, you will witness the colourful changing of the guard ceremony, a spectacular reenactment of royal tradition (ceremony not available on Tuesdays).

Within the palace grounds, you will also visit the National Folk Museum of Korea, where you will gain insight into daily life from ancient times to the present day. Exhibitions present traditional farming techniques, weaving, cooking and the customs of both aristocrats and ordinary citizens, helping you better understand Korean heritage.

During the day, you will stop at a Korean ginseng centre to learn about the reputed health benefits of this famous local plant. Afterwards, you will head to Insadong, a district renowned for its traditional tea houses and antique shops. Here you will enjoy a Korean lunch – with dishes such as bibimbap or bulgogi – followed by free time to browse authentic souvenirs in charming local stores.

In the afternoon, you will take a cable car up Mount Namsan, home to the iconic N Seoul Tower. From the observation deck you can admire spectacular panoramic views over Seoul – a perfect opportunity for memorable photos.

Finally, you will visit Namsangol Hanok Village, a recreated traditional village featuring five hanok houses from the Joseon Dynasty. As you stroll through the restored homes and elegant gardens with a pavilion and stream, you will experience the atmosphere of historical Korea and see how people from different social classes – from peasants to royalty – once lived.

This is an immersive and diverse day that allows you to truly understand the history, culture and modern character of one of Asia’s most fascinating capitals.

The order of visits and the programme may be subject to change.
